ABOUT
Hi, I'm ABSHK (Abhishek).
Photography, to me, is not just about capturing a frame — it’s about breathing life into stillness, about returning to a feeling every time. I photograph in black and white because that’s how I feel the world most deeply. Colors can adorn a moment, but strip them away, and what remains is truth — raw, unguarded, and timeless.
It’s never just an image for me. It’s the soul beneath the stillness — the quiet characters unfolding in silence, the delicate choreography of light and shadow, the intimate dialogue between subject and background. I don’t just frame what’s seen — I try to reveal what’s felt.
My journey began — with pixelated memories on old Nokia phones, alongside my childhood friend Rishi Gupta. Back in 2014, we didn’t have fancy gear, but we had curiosity. That was enough.
Since then, every frame has been a lesson. From the narrow gullies to vast skies, from my professors to the streets themselves — I’ve learned to watch with intent, to listen with the eyes. My education in design, first at NIFT Mumbai and then at IIT Bombay, taught me to see beyond the surface — to read the textures of a place, the mood of a moment.
Today, I work as an experience designer. But photography remains my truest language — a place where my heart slows down and stories begin to speak. Welcome to my black and white world — where shadows are as alive as light, and every photograph holds its breath, waiting to be felt.
